The Road to Westminster
(Rolex
goes to the “Big Top”)
On
our first leg of the journey to the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, Ch.
All-Time Hunter’s Point Rolex (aka Rolex), my husband Jim and I first spent 3
days at the Big Apple Sporting Society Show and the Garden State Specialties in
Secaucus, New Jersey. We were accompanied by Whitney (Ch. All-Time ‘N’
Whitney’s Babbling Brook). Both Rolex and Whitney were entered in the shows,
but more importantly we were there to support English Springer Spaniel Club of
Long Island-Rescue.

On Thursday and Friday rescue held two fundraisers for rescue. The
great group of volunteers who join us in New Jersey each year came
and helped Marge and I put together a successful fundraising event
to help out the coffers of rescue.
Friday morning we drove into the city for television interview that
will be shown Tuesday morning before Westminster. We got to meet
David Frei and visit the Hotel Pennsylvania where many of the dogs
stay during Westminster. Rolex was a big ham and everyone there was
giving him love and kisses from the sound guy right down to the
makeup girl. He actually wanted to sit in a chair and let her do
HIS makeup!
When we got back to New Jersey, Rolex received a special package in
the mail containing a brand new show robe and a fleece blanket to
cover his crate at the big show in New York City. |
